VRChat is a social platform where people meet, talk, and hang out in worlds made by other players. VRChat has a very diverse selection of worlds, from mini-games, to movie theaters, to bars and restaurants.

The Start
Originally started by DemonitizedBoi as the Kmart Associates V2 group sometime around June 2024. At this time it was mainly a place for former associates of the former VRChat Kmart group to hang out in and continue to keep the Kmart worlds alive. As more former associates joined. MarcellaVT, a former Developer of VRChat Kmart, joined and was surprised that there were a bunch of people trying to continue the group. She liked the idea of restarting work on the words and start doing seasonal updates for them again. he got in touch with Demonitized and they both started working on the worlds once again.

Changes
The group in August 2024 was fully given to MarcellaVT and renamed to VRChat Kmart V2. During this time they were able to recover some of the original SDK2 VRChat Kmart worlds and reupload them as archives. Changes to how they developed the worlds at this time also helped them get fixes to the worlds out quicker and get new features added to the world.

New Name and Logo
In September 2024 the group was renamed. Dropping the V2 and Shortiening the VRChat part to VRC. With a new logo to go along side the name changes. This was to better differentiate themselves from the former VRChat Kmart group. The old VRChat Kmart logos in the worlds were also updated with the new VRC Kmart logo around the same time.

Applications Open up
The group for a while didnt have open applications. This was to focus on getting the group all setup before having to deal with new associates coming in. In Feburary 2024, applications were opened so anyone could apply to become a associate. Immediatly people applied and have been slowly growing the ammount of associates in the group.

Today
The group continues to grow. The worlds continue to get seasonal updates and changes throughout the year.
